STATISTICS IN MEASUREMENT AND EVALUATION-I
4.0 INTRODUCTION In the previous unit, you learnt about psychological testing. In this unit, the discussion will turn towards statistics in measurement and evaluation. Statistics is science of collecting and analysing numerical data in large quantities, particularly for the purpose of inferring proportions in a whole from those in a representative sample. One can analyse quantitative data through techniques such as measures of central tendency. Measures of central tendency are of various types, such as arithmetic mean, mode and median. This is also commonly known as simply the mean.
